405nm laser diodes have violet color. BeamQ All kinds 405nm Diodes.

405nm laser diodes are based on a heterostructure with either gallium nitride or indium gallium nitride quantum wells. As a semiconductor laser diode (not DPSS lasers), they are available at output powers from 1mW – 1200 mW.

The most common blue lasers are the diode lasers used in Blu-ray applications, which emit 405 nm “violet” light, which is a short enough wavelength to cause fluorescence in some chemicals, in the same way as radiation further into the ultraviolet (“black light”) does.

405nm visible light is not as quick-killing as harmful UV light; it re- quires a longer exposure time to accomplish the task. With that said, the 405nm wavelength does not affect the heme porphyrins that exist within humans, and secondly do not cause any cellular damage.
