The S1087 and S1133 series, from Hamamatsu Photonics, are visible-light photodiodes within a ceramic package. They offer low dark current and are impervious to stray light from the back or sides. These qualities allow the photodiodes to offer a reliable optical measurement of visible light to near IR radiation.
