Diode Pumped Solid State Laser

In a diode-pumped solid state (DPSS) laser, photons from a laser diode, usually temperature-controlled to emit a specific wavelength, are used to excite a solid state lasing medium, which in turn emits stimulated (laser) radiation at a longer wavelength (lower energy photons).
