One of the customers application is using this diode to seed the Th-doped fiber amplifier and do the spectroscopy on the ultracold LiK molecules. There they need the line width narrow enough to resolve the transition lines. Therefore the locking line width of the laser diode should be smaller than 1GHz. Thus, it is better for them to have some preknowledge about the laser diode emissions behavior inside the external cavity (ECDL) mode.
